When you decide to renovate your home, build a new home, or just makeover a room, paint color is going to be one of the first things that you think about. Choosing a paint color for a room can be quite daunting as you stare at all of the possibilities in the paint aisle at your home improvement store.
Here are three things to consider before you choose the color for a room.
First, what will the room be used for?
Remember, different colors elicit different feelings. You do not want to use a bright color in a room that you plan to relax in. Think about the space and the feelings that you want to have when you are there. This can help you choose the right palette.
Second, size matters (at least in this case!)
It is important to think about the size of the room that you are painting. Lighter and brighter colors will make a room appear bigger whereas darker colors tend to close in a room.
Finally, it is important to think about the colors that are close to the area that you are painting.
Not just on the inside, but also on the outside if there are big windows in the room. Your own personal taste will come into play as well.
